In mittens, the fingers are protected by long plates that cover all fingers except the thumb. This forms a sturdier construction than the small, separate plates used in gauntlest. The drawback of mittens, however, is that they restrict mobility more than gauntlets. The pair is made of 2 mm thick steel and
