But what forms its being some mysterious organism? Or mechanism? What does "he" take in and spit out? Good and evil? Purity and impurity? Creation and destruction? It consumes, and disgorges, all manner of extremes. This artwork was created to decorate a "Furosaki" folding screen, often used with the Japanese tea ceremony. "Mazeppa" is an artistic representation of Franz Listz's "The
