Russia, Soviet Union. A Lot of Medals & Awards Auction Archive equally constructed of silver aluminum1. Medal for Military Merit in Battle, Type II. Instituted in 1938. Obverse shows inscription with crossed swords, reverse imprinted with number, on pentagonal ribbon, 32 mm, near mint condition. Footnote: The Soviet military medal was instituted on 17 October 1938 and awarded for combat action resulting in a military success, courageous defense of the state borders, and successful military and political training. 2.
