Instituted 24 May 1869 by Prince Heinrich XIV. (1909 1918 issue). Constructed of Gold and silver with enamels, consisting of a silver Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, with radiant sun rays joining the arms between the quadrants, the obverse with a central red enameled medallion bearing a Gold coat of arms of Reuss within a Gold ring, the reverse with a black enameled medallion bearing a
